Beverly Greenley
Beverly Greenley is McCarter's
quieter, yet equally cheerful, partner. Like McCarter, Greenley is
great at making law understandable. She accomplishes this in a variety
of ways, including her artistic talents - she loves to draw cartoons,
and is actually quite good!
She concentrates her law practice in the following fields: income
taxation, estate and gift taxation, generation-skipping taxation,
probate and trust administration, and business law, including
corporate, partnership and limited liability company law.
Previously, she was a partner and member of the estate planning and tax
departments at Husch & Eppenberger and a partner in the St. Louis
office of Gage and Tucker (now Lathrop and Gage).
Earlier, she was a Professor of Law and Chairman of the Tax Department
of Stetson University College of Law. She taught courses concerning
income taxation of estates, trusts, corporations, partnerships and
individuals, as well as estate and gift taxation and estate planning.
In addition, Greenley has handled audits and appeals before the
Internal Revenue Service and practiced before the U.S. Tax Court.
Greenley is co-author of a multi-volume work entitled The Missouri
Lawyer's Guide. She has written articles on irrevocable life insurance
trusts and co-authored an article on the evaluation of business
enterprises. Greenley has been a speaker at numerous educational
seminars.
Greenley received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of
Missouri, Columbia, and a Master of Laws degree in Taxation from
Washington University in St. Louis. She is Treasurer of the St. Louis
Estate Planning Council Board and is a biographee in Who's Who in
American Law and in Who's Who in America.
She is also a member of our office tennis team.
